When one is faced with the need or desire to seek the services of a plastic surgeon in the Spokane area, what should one look for? The typical answers of adequate education and training, referrals from happy patients, and a clean background check, while all important, are only part of the equation. Ultimately, the feeling of trust is essential to the relationship between patient and physician. This is common to all fields of medicine, but much more intense in the field of surgery, by its very nature.
Dr. Rhee's practice philosophy essentially boils down to a simple goal: To treat each patient as if that person was a member of his family. A relatively simple goal, but one that is altogether too commonly forgotten and lost in today's broken health care system. As anyone who works consistently with Dr. Rhee knows, he is consistently hard on himself as well as those around him in the pursuit of this end point. You can be assured that the medical care that you receive is based on sound judgement and with your interests and safety in mind.
Dr. Rhee practiced in the state of Arizona, after completing his residency, from 2000 until 2012. During that time, he treated thousands of patients and developed a thriving private practice. Seeking new challenges and an environment that catered to his family's love of the outdoors, he relocated to Spokane, Washington in the fall of 2012 and joined the well respected Rockwood Clinic.
Why has reconstructive surgery always been part of Dr. Rhee's practice? Because in the end, what differentiates a true plastic surgeon from the seemingly more and more common 'cosmetic surgeon' is the underlying training he or she has gone through to not only make a structure more aesthetically appealing, but to reconstruct it in a safe and appropriate manner. This is why when you are seen by Dr. Rhee at our convenient Spokane area office, whether it is for cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, a logical, sound, and safe plan will be formulated. At times, that can mean not having surgery at all, and Dr. Rhee will turn away patients that he feels are not appropriate candidates.
The best surgeons are not the ones who claim to have perfect outcomes, because as all surgeons know (whether they admit it or not), it is impossible not to have occasional complications---the human body is just too complex. The best surgeons are those that not only have the training and ability---but the desire to care.
